Indiana Hoosiers head coach Tom Crean has been a man on the recruiting move as of late, travelling around the state and country in hopes of adding players to the Cream and Crimson roster for upcoming seasons. Clearly, there is much help needed, so the need to get top-flight recruits is great. The Hoosiers have a consensus top-5 to top-10 class coming in next year, but the nature of recruiting is such that it never rests; you always need to be after the next guy in the next class. The title of this post comes from me hearkening back to my childhood Saturday mornings, where I can still hear the a capella theme song to the game show inspired by the educational video game, "Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?" Crean has recently, as reported here, been to Indianapolis to see 2012 stud Ron Patterson of Broad Ripple play, along with his 2011 teammate Steven Jamison. Today, according to John Decker of HoosierNation, Crean is in Phoenix, not simply to further darken his immortalized tan. He is also there to see prized 2011 IU recruit Matt Carlino and his Highland team play in the MLK Day Classic against Phoenix North and 2010 five-star Texas recruit Daniel Bejarano. Carlino is coming off back-to-back 30-plus point efforts, but this will be a good barometer of just how good he is. Can he handle playing against another top talent in a big-time event? We shall see. Check back later to see how Matt played, and if there is any news on Crean's visit. Another point of interest could be Carlino's teammate, sophomore Nick Johnson, who has gotten some early offers from Pac-10 schools and Gonzaga.
