LN Sophs Commit

According to various media outlets, Lawrence North sophomores Ryan Taylor and Michael Chandler have committed to Louisville this weekend. Their verbals continue a pipeline between LN and the Cardinals, who now have four current Wildcat players committed. Taylor, a 6'6" forward, and Chandler, a 6'10" center, are both top-100 players, with Chandler assumed to have more upside for the future. Here is a link to the IndyStar article about the committment.

In other news, there are some rumblings and rumors that Broad Ripple freshman sensation Ronald Patterson has begun the transfer process which will possibly lead him to another IPS school, Arsenal Tech. Tech's roster currently contains four freshman, so they could be a force if the transfer goes through. This is just a rumor at this point and the folks at Broad Ripple are denying it's accuracy. It may never happen, and from the Rockets standpoint, never will. For the sake of propriety and for the quality of the Broad Ripple program, here's hoping he stays put.

EDIT: 1/5 at 11:08 AM - Mr. Walton, Ron's father, has contacted me to dispel these rumors. He says Ron loves it at Broad Ripple and has no plans to transfer. He said the confusion could have come from Ron's attendance at the Southport vs. Tech game, but reported that his attendance was due to having friends on both squads and nothing more. Thanks to Ron's dad for setting the record straight!

When it comes to the Patterson part of this post, you are completely wrong. The rumors, more than likely were started by Hamilton and the program itself. This is a coach that has hounded Patterson since last year. Most of his "amazing" freshman class (Cross, Coomler, Jackson and Payne) were recruited away from a Broad Ripple middle school and has since put Hamilton on probation with the IHSAA. This rumor is probably coming from the fact that Broad Ripple will be an all-magnet school next year. Patterson has already signed up and been accepted into the program for next year. He is going nowhere. I would appreciate if you would take off the part about Patterson in this post. This kind of rumor, and your acceptance of it, does nothing but hurt Ron and Broad Ripple and gives Tech some kind of twisted notoriety.

i am just posting what people have told me. i think he should stay at broad ripple, and hope he does for his sake, and for the sake of getting quality coaching. but since i posted it as a rumor, and did not accept it as a fact, so there is really no need to remove it. i will however, add some of your comments to the post to give the other side.

also, can you explain to me the details of hamilton's probation?

thanks!

According to family members Patterson will be enrolling in Tech some time this week. The rumors may be true ! The BRHS staff is actually unaware or in denial of the rumblings.

Someone informed me about this post and I feel I had to set the record straight. Ron WILL NOT be transfering anywhere. I don't know where these rumors are coming from. Glad to hear my son is being talked about, but this is totally untrue. He is having a great season at Ripple and loves it there. The only thing I could think of is that someone seen him at the Southport vs. Tech game and drew their own conclusions. He has friends on both teams and was taking in a good game, that's it. Good site though, I'll have to visit more often!!

Mr. Walton-

Thanks for stopping by, and thanks for the compliments! I will be sure to adjust the story to include your statements. Thanks again for setting the record straight!

The truth is the mother and coach had a dispute, there is trouble stirring, the kid turns 18 in April, he only has three years of eligibility.

Hamilton's probation stems from letting this years freshman class practice with last years team as 8th graders. Recruiting couldn't be proved probably because of Tech's magnet school status. I think IHSAA was already looking into him for other violations.
