Once again, the harsh weather conditions across the state caused most of the scheduled games to be cancelled or rescheduled. Only one previewed game for Wednesday took place as planned. Since the northern part of the state was somewhat missed by the snow, the Bowman Academy - South Bend Washington game took place as planned.
Bowman Academy 81 - South Bend Washington 70 - Washington (10-3) controlled this one in the early stages, leading by as many as seven at one point. A 24-5 run by the Eagles (11-2), the top-ranked team in 1A, made the difference in this one. Junior point guard Tyrae Robinson led Bowman with 22 points, including a perfect 11 for 11 at the free throw line. Freshman sensation DeJuan Marrero, a 6'5 wing player, added 18 points and 12 rebounds for Bowman. Jordan Vann led Washington with 20 points, Teven Watson added 17 points, and Kennis White chipped in twelve of his own.
Hopefully this weather clears up and games are able to be played! There is a full docket of great games for Friday and Saturday, so be sure to check back and see what are some of the best games for this weekend!
