Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell Update

One of the most highly touted ninth graders in the state of Indiana is without a doubt Park Tudor freshman point guard Kevin Ferrell. At 5'9 and built with a slight frame, he looks every bit the underclassman, but his game is far beyond his years. So far in his first high school season, Yogi, as Ferrell is nicknamed, is putting up over 12 points and five assists per game, while shooting nearly eighty percent from the free throw line. His shot is struggling a bit, shooting less than forty percent on the year, but that is to be expected with the big jump from middle school to varsity ball. Yogi has a national name, as he was rated as the top fourth grader in the country five years ago, causing a stir about early rankings, and prompting several newspaper and magazine articles. He may not be the best in the USA, but he is a great player with a bright future, and will be a nightmare for opposing coaches to contain in the coming years. You'll find him rated among the top ten for 2012 on P-Hoops Class Rankings as well. Here is a link to the current Indy Star article about Ferrell. Enjoy!
