DJ Byrd Update

One of the best players in the state, and one who is making a late surge at throwing his name into the discussion for Indiana Mr. Basketball, is North Montgomery 6'4 guard DJ Byrd. The well-built scoring machine is a Purdue signee, one of four from the state of Indiana for the class of 2009, along with Franklin Central's Patrick Bade, Cathedral's Kelsey Barlow, and Lawrence North's Jeff Robinson. Heading into the final stretch of the season, Byrd is averaging nearly 24 points and nine rebounds a game for his 13-3 Chargers team.
