Game Recaps: 12/2

Quickly following up with the top games for Friday night. Some tough games, unbelievable finishes, and big time stat lines. Read on for more!

1. Roncalli 54 - Park Tudor 53

This game came down to the wire as 2A #1 Park Tudor was knocked off by the Roncalli Rebels. Trailing by two with under twenty seconds to play, IU commit Yogi Ferrell nailed a deep three to give the Panthers a one point lead. However, a buzzer beating layup by Roncalli did in Park Tudor, handing them their first loss against an Indiana opponent. Ferrell finished with 24 points. Roncalli 6'7 senior Ryan Weber had 13 points, and another 6'7 senior, David Heckman, had 12 points and 10 rebounds.

2. Lawrence Central 69 - Arsenal Tech 64

A big game featuring two IU recruits, LC's 6'8 senior Jeremy Hollowell and Tech's 6'9 sophomore Trey Lyles. The Bears were seeking to legitimize themselves as for real 4A contenders against another tough foe, and they did so. Hollowell finished with 26 points and nine rebounds. Lyles put up a staggering stat line of 19 points and 19 rebounds in the loss. Sophomore Mike Jones was also impressive for Tech in the losing effort.

3. Hamilton Southeastern 67 - Mt. Vernon 39

Wow. Did not see an utter blowout coming in this one. The Royals look like one of 4A's best. The trio of Gary Harris, Zak Irvin, and Jaccobby Bledsoe was more than the Marauders could handle. Harris finished with 17 points, five rebounds, six assists, and seven steals. Irvin had a game high 18 points, while Bledoe had 14 points and four assists.

4. Cathedral 60 - Warren Central 56

A back and forth affair for both team's season opener with the Irish pulling out the home win. Cathedral freshman Jalen Coleman was very impressive in his varsity debut, notching 16 points to lead the Irish. He holds and IU offer. Indiana commit Collin Hartman added 13 points for Cathedral. Warren Central looked good in the loss and was paced by 6'6 junior Devin Davis' 20 points and nine rebounds. Davis is also an IU commit.

5. Lake Central 62 - Valpo 39

Another unexpected blowout. Junior Tyler Wideman returned from a one game suspension with a monster effort of 25 points and 7 rebounds.
