* The #2 4A squad, North Central, prevailed over #1 ranked Hamilton Southeastern 81-76 in the game of the year. In what was a back and forth affair, Purdue recruit Ronnie Johnson hit a 12-foot floater with 2:18 to go in the fourth quarter to give the Panthers a 74-72 lead, one they would never relinquish. Holding the same two point lead with under 20 seconds, Johnson missed a jumper, but Iowa recruit Patrick Ingram got the offensive rebound and putback basket to pad North Central's lead to 80-76. On the next possession, HSE's Gary Harris missed a three pointer, and after an additional free throw for the Panthers, that was all she wrote.
Johnson led North Central with 27 points, while Ingram battled through foul trouble to score 20 points, including ten in the fourth. Big man Darius Latham had 17 points. Harris scored 34 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Junior Zakarie Irvin added 17 points and senior Jaccobby Bledsoe had 13 points.
* In an amazing individual performance, Ft. Wayne Luers sophomore James Blackmon, Jr. scored 40 points, including four three pointers, to give the Knights an 89-83 victory over Indianapolis Howe. Dwight Richards added 23 points for Luers, while Aaron Mann led the Hornets with 25 points.
* Park Tudor rolled to a comfortable win over Triton Central, 87-60, getting 23 points from Manhattan recruit Paul Bayt. Yogi Ferrell added 18 points and sophomore Trevon Bluiett had 16 points.
* Cathedral got a nice win over fellow parochial school Lafayette Central Catholic, 59-42. Saint Louis recruit Jared Drew had 16 points, while junior Collin Hartman, an IU recuit, had 14 points.
* Ben Davis bounced back from an overtime loss to Warren Central to thump Brownsburg 56-31, getting 14 points from Tony Wills. Promising sophomore Jaraan Lands led the Bulldogs with 12 points.
* Pendleton Heights had a nice game to sharpen up for their upcoming tilt with HSE, defeating Rushville 62-44. Butler signee Kellen Dunham had 24 points in the win.
* Guerin Catholic kept rolling along the night after beating Lawrence North, handling Anderson 59-44. Sophomore Aaron Brennan had another good game, notching 13 points for the Golden Eagles.
