Game of the Day: Tuesday 12/13

There are several great games throughout the state of Indiana tonight, but one seems to stand head and shoulders above the rest. Two undefeated teams will square off in the biggest high school basketball arena in the universe to play for bragging rights. The New Castle Trojans (4-0) welcome the Wapahani Raiders to Chrysler Fieldhouse for a matchup of unbeatens, a game many are anticipating feverishly. The home team is led by Steven Bennett, who runs off screens like Rip Hamilton , scoring right at 20 points per game. A trio of others also average double digits. Jordan Richardson (11.8 ppg), Korey Ryan (11.5), and Kyle Goolsby (10 ppg) all help the Trojans cause. The Raiders are led by outstanding sophomore Grant Evans, who scores 17.5 points a game, and Jacob Foster, who puts up an identical output of 17.5 points. Tanner Davis and Alex Gordon both average in double figures as well. This should be an excellent game, but the Trojans are tough at home. Home court could decide this one.

Other Games of Note

Chesterton (1-3) vs. Lake Central (3-1)

The Indians should handle Chesterton in this one behind the continued strong play of Michigan recruit Glenn Robinson III and big man Tyler Wideman. But P-Hoops is interested to see how 6'6 freshman Matt Holba plays against such a tough opponent. Holba was a recent visitor to Bloomington to see IU's upset win over Kentucky. He is, along with Cathedral's Jalen Coleman, considered one of the best freshmen in the state.

Evansville Memorial (2-1) vs. Evansville Bosse (2-0)

The Tigers are off to a strong start, but can they keep up with the Bosse Bulldogs, a top 3A team? Bosse put up 12 three pointers in their last game, a dominating win over previously unbeaten Princeton. In that game, they only got seven points from star sophomore Jaquan Lyle, a five star recruit. Imagine if all their players gell at once? Things could get ugly fast for an opponent. This is a cross-town rivalry to keep an eye on.
