In the most-voted on P-Hoops Poll to date, the voters have overwhelmingly selected Indiana's 2009 Mr. Basketball winner as Bloomington South point guard Jordan Hulls. Hulls, an IU recruit, has had an outstanding season for the 20-0 Panthers, who begin their postseason play Friday against the winner of Bloomington North and Columbus East. South should win the Sectional and face the winner of Sectional 13, which has teams such as Terre Haute North and South and Plainfield. Hulls garnered 155 of a possible 283 votes for 54% of the total vote. The next closest to Hulls was Batesville senior guard Colt Ryan, an Evansville recruit, who received 38 votes for 13% of the total votes. Following him were Tipton's Derek Elston (IU) and North Montgomery's DJ Byrd (Purdue) who received 32 and 30 votes apiece. Rounding out the group were Marion's Scott Wood (15 votes), Lawrence North's Stephan Van Treese (8 votes), and Franklin Central's Patrick Bade (5 votes). Wood is headed to NC State, Van Treese to Louisville, and Bade to Purdue. Congrats to Hulls on this accomplishment!
This week, we will vote on who the winner of Sectional 10 will be. This is one of the most loaded Sectionals in the state, and features three of the top seven ranked teams in 4A: Lawrence North, North Central, and Cathedral. The underdogs in this group are Lawrence Central, Broad Ripple, Arlington, and Warren Central. Vote today!
