p-hoops,

IMHO, Trevor George should be ranked much higher, probably top 40at least. Trevor sacrificed a lot of scoring this year for the team and his leadership qualities are unquestioned. Trevor was named the Player of the Year in SW Indiana by the Evansville Courier over players such as Jordan Myers that you have ranked higher.

I am a New Castle resident and a Princeton native. I believe you have Trevor George ranked too low. Princeton probably does not win the Regional and definitely not Semi-State without him. He stepped it up in the tournament and was the leader of Princeton's State championship run. I would encourage you to obtain and view the semi-state game against Greensburg. He absolutely carried Princeton. It is my understanding that U of Indianapolis is looking hard at him.

I sure dont watch as much high school hoops as you, but I have seen Corey Clemens play for New Castle, who is ranked ahead of George. George is twice the player as Cleens. Lu v ur site. Thnks!

Looking forward to seeing where you rank Packer, and the Chavis twins in the to be junior class.

after all the comments of TGeorge, I've been persuaded and will adjust.

Also, realized I've left a few kids off who need to be on there, most notably Latroi Wright of Greensburg. Don't know how I left him off.

Thanks!

I look and I look and never see Kyle Speckman from Lawrence Central receive any kind of recognition. A friend of mine's son plays JV there so I saw five of there regular season games this year. North Central, Bloomington South, Franklin Central, Warren Central and Washington. Players from some of the above teams get quite a bit of publicity. There chosen for All Star teams, are all state candidates etc. Well let's just say, I did not see in those games or any games a player who could score, pass and shoot any better than Speckman. I do hear he's not signed. Some college is going to figure out how under rated this kid is. go after and sign themselves a phenom.

i've seen speckman play, and i agree he can shoot the ball. their last regular season game against washington he had a bunch of threes. but, i don't think he can do much outside of that, which may limit his chances to play ball in college.

In the Washington game he did shoot and make a lot of threes. I do remember him splitting the trap to make the bounce pass underneath leading to the last second basket to win the game. He seems to have a Hi B-ball IQ. Some games I saw he drives a lot and when the other guards struggled he would bring the ball up. Believe me when I tell you he is a excellent ball handler. Goes left or right, changes pace, direction and can finish, Assortment of moves and passing [in transition or half court] may be his best asset. Tremendous hands.

I would switch Bade and Van Treese given Bade's better consistency, range, defense, greater impact on the game, coachability, and upside.

It is exciting to see so much national-level talent coming out of Indiana in the coming years. Let's hope we can keep much of it in state!

i do think Bade has more upside, but he also has a chance to stay the same, meaning a bit timid. i think SVT is more college ready now, which gives him a SLIGHT egde.

I believe matt gehl is goin 2 Indiana State.

Aaron Evans is a lot better than a lot of the players ahead of him. He scores at will and is a good defender

I'm going to argue for Landon Booker (Bethel recruit). Here's his write-up...

Landon Booker, a 5’10” guard from South Bend Adams High School, has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his basketball and academic careers beginning in the 2009-2010 school year at Bethel College in Mishawaka, Ind.

Booker, a three time All-Conference selection, led the Eagles and the NIC in scoring his senior season as he averaged just over 19 points per game.

The two time Adams High School MVP was named to the Indiana Top 100 list and he participated in the IBCA/IHSAA Basketball Showcase in Indianapolis, Ind.

Booker finished his high school career by scoring 1,021 career points in route to an NIC 1st team All-Conference selection. Booker was also awarded the Burger King Athlete of the Week and Applebee’s Athlete of the Week honors during his senior campaign.

“Landon is a tremendous athlete and great defender,” said Head Basketball Coach Mike Lightfoot. “His strength and quickness will definitely help him excel at the collegiate level. We’re excited for what he can do in a Pilots uniform.”

Booker will look to add to the success of the Pilots program that made it to the NAIA DII Final Four last season and finished with a final ranking of No. 2 in the Top 25 Coaches Poll.

-- You could easily argue he was the best player in South Bend this year.
