Games of the Night - UPDATED

The number one game in today's P-Hoops profile was the cross-town rivalry game that pit Lawrence Central against Lawrence North. The game did not disappoint. Regulation time was not enough to settle things, and this one needed OVERTIME! In a potentially huge, momentum building win, the Bears were able to knock off the more heralded LN Wildcats 57-52 in overtime. Future Indiana Hoosier Jeremy Hollowell led the way for LC with 22 points, dominating inside and out, using his size and athleticism to confuse and frustrate the 3-2 zone employed by Jack Keefer. The Wildcats have had a stranglehold on Lawrence bragging right for a while, so this hs to mean a lot to the Bears. Congrats!
In one of the best games of the night, North Central defeated rival Pike by the score of 88-76. Purdue-bound Ronnie Johnson led the way for the Panthers, scoring 24 points, while future Iowa Hawkeye Patrick Ingram scored 16 points. Big man Darius Latham chipped in 15 points and, by my count, had well over ten boards. Congrats to the Panthers for starting their season out on the right note.
Another game I profiled had some scratching their heads as to why. Zionsville and Brebeuf? Why? Shouldn't the Braves walk through this one? They're a top 3A team!!! Well, in overtime, the Eagles knocked off Brebeuf behind nine points and ten assists from Andrew Dakich.
One more profiled game was Arsenal Tech and Manual in an IPS tilt. Super sophomore Trey Lyles had a huge opening game with 26 points as well as 12 boards, 4 assists, and a half dozen or so blocks in a 77-53 win.
I'll be posting other updates throughout the night.
